iTools
Control supports the move beyond
stand-alone IT project management
to business programme management,
where technology initiatives contribute
to business results in conjunction
with other aspects of the business
system, including organizational,
process, and people initiatives.
iTools Control creates visibility
on project level as well as on programme
and company level.
If a programme of work is undertaken,
project milestones
are identified, in order to achieve
project objectives. This is, however,
also true for programmes and possibly
all the programmes in a company.
Itools Control allows, therefore,
the creation of programme
milestones. These are project
milestones that are identified as
relevant for the programme as a whole,
or have a dependency on milestones
from another project.
In order to give a single view of
all programme milestones, iTools Control
now contains a one plan graph. This
graph will plot all programme milestones
of all projects (or a selected subset
of projects) in a single graph. This
will show a single overview of all
programme and/or company milestones.
The view will show the milestones,
the projects they are part of, the
phases of the project, and the status
of the milestone in a traffic
light like manner. The status
of the milestone is entered when the
project manager does a weekly status
report.
