iTools Control supports the move beyond stand-alone IT project management to business programme management, where technology initiatives contribute to business results in conjunction with other aspects of the business system, including organizational, process, and people initiatives.

iTools Control creates visibility on project level as well as on programme and company level.

If a programme of work is undertaken, project milestones are identified, in order to achieve project objectives. This is, however, also true for programmes and possibly all the programmes in a company.

Itools Control allows, therefore, the creation of programme milestones. These are project milestones that are identified as relevant for the programme as a whole, or have a dependency on milestones from another project.

In order to give a single view of all programme milestones, iTools Control now contains a one plan graph. This graph will plot all programme milestones of all projects (or a selected subset of projects) in a single graph. This will show a single overview of all programme and/or company milestones.

The view will show the milestones, the projects they are part of, the phases of the project, and the status of the milestone in a traffic light like manner. The status of the milestone is entered when the project manager does a weekly status report.
